Configuring the mouse for more effective zoom/scroll
I would like to configure Reaper so that ....
1) I can scroll by right-clicking with the mouse on the screen and then dragging left/right.
2) The mouse-wheel zooms in/out centered at the time/place where the _mouse_ is currently positioned, NOT the last place I clicked on the screen.
The second one sounds a bit odd but I've used it in other (non-DAW) packages and once you get used to it you can't imagine going back; zoom is much more natural when it is centered on the place your eyes are focused!
I've seen a couple of videos demonstrating how the mousewheel can be configured but not been able to find any way of achieving this behaviour. I'm sure I'm missing something though so please let me know! :-)
1) Preferences -> Editing Behavior -> Mouse Modifiers -> Arrange view, right drag context: set to Hand Scroll instead of the default Marquee select items.
2) Preferences -> Editing Behavior -> Set Zoom centers to Mouse Cursor.
