How to see 'empty' keyboard shortcuts
Apologies if there's a thread for this already.
I'm wondering how I can group together unused keyboard short cuts, so I can see which ones are available.
Has anyone got any ideas?
Thanks.

Open the actions list, click on the key shortcut column. This will group all the used shortcuts to the top of the list. If a key combo does not appear, it is unused. Best I can think of...

You also can click Find shortcut button and press the buttons you need. If it the error window will appear, you'll know it is free.

I started making a Windows app to do this but never finished, I think I had the basic keys and key-combos covered?, but there are so many, many more, Mouse buttons/wheel, Media keys, etc, etc,
Usage -> Export the key list from REAPER Main menu > Help > Key bindings..., this creates the file "ReaperKeyboardShortcuts.html" in your Windows TEMP folder. Now run this app to list the used and unused keys for the "Main Section" of REAPER.
v0.0.3 - Minor changes/tweaks, updated read me.
v0.0.2 - Add more key names for unused key-combos.

My Reaper has Help / Key Bindings and Mouse Modifiers.......and no export. If I open the page for Key Bindings and Mouse Modifiers I can save the page as html and rename it to "ReaperKeyboardShortcuts.html" but when I run the app I get all keys unused. The file is in the same dir as the app. Thanks for any ideas.

There is no export option, sorry if confusing, hopefully this makes more sense...
From REAPER's main menu, select "Help" > "Key Bindings and Mouse Modifiers", this creates the file "ReaperKeyboardShortcuts.html" in a folder via Windows TEMP setting. Now run this app, it should list the used and unused keys for the "Main Section" of REAPER, you can select the view from a dropdown list at the top.
Note, if HTML file is not found a message will pop up when the app is started. If you change keys in REAPER you'll have to run that 'Key Bindings' menu option again, and then in my app at the top dropdown list select ReLoad HTML to see the changes.
v0.0.5 - Fix 'Find Next' was reset unintentionally.
v0.0.4 - Add Find/Find Next option to context menu.

You rock. This works great. I was too dense to realize that selecting the keybindings from help created the local file. What a great tool. Thanks for taking the time to explain it !

I took the same app and changed some code, hopefully it works for MIDI section, at least for most of the basic keyboard keys.

Its better then nothing!
Combined into one app, view used and unused* keys for any section.
EDIT
App download is now on REAPER stash, for latest version see, https://stash.reaper.fm/v/44175/Get%20REAPER%20Keys.zip

There is actually a textbox under that text, so click below that with mouse and it should activate/appear, you can then type a search word followed by Enter key, then use F3 to find next. It sucks its not shown by default, but its built-into the control and AFAIK I can't change it.
