Default A modified Reaper Theme to another computer ?

I am sorry, i have asked this question before a long time ago but i have forgotten the solution and can't find my post with that question anymore

It's about this issue:

- I have modified a Theme and saved it with same name as original Theme name, on computer A. (the saved file gets the extension .ReaperTheme)

- Now, i want to use that modified Theme on computer B.
However, when i load the modified Theme on B, it doesn't load the modifications.
I do have the original Theme installed on B.

I think the culprit was that the modified Theme file has an absolute filepath reference in it, to the original Theme on computer A, and that filepath isn't valid anymore on computer B, cause that computer has a different name for it's HD.
But i am not sure anymore ..

Any advanced Reaper Themer to the rescue ?
Warm Regards.

It depends on what you have changed.

Look in the .ReaperTheme file and change the line that starts "ui_img="

So i found that line in the .ReaperTheme file from a Theme that i have modified.
I see that just the original name of the original Theme file is in that line.

It should be the same of the folder where the theme's images are stored. Did you change them? Did you move the folder across (maybe all ZIPped up in a ReaperThemeZip file)?

1) Does the original theme file end in ZIP?
like this: .ReaperThemeZIP

2) Does the modified theme end with ZIP as above or have no ZIP.

If yes to #1 and no ZIP to #2, your modified theme is dependent on the original theme for the images.

If no to #1 and no ZIP to #2, your modified theme is dependent on the same image folder the the original theme uses.

can you tell what the name of the original theme is?

Saving the configuration and importing it should work.

Thanks for your help !
Original Theme name: Beatwing v2.5_bright.ReaperThemeZip
Modified Theme file name: Beatwing v2.5_bright.ReaperTheme

The modififications i did are only changes of colors, and font change of item label, i made thos modifications in the Theme Tweaker.

I'm guessing your modified theme is dependent on the original theme then.
Using the exact same name is not good, but I don't know if that's what causing the issue.
Try renaming the modified theme to "Beatwing v2.5_bright-Modded.ReaperTheme"
The other option is to open the original version, make the tweaks again and save with a new name.

Hi Van... so hey, here are the basics:

If you start with a xxxxx.ReaperThemeZip file
and change the name by adding .zip to the end, then you and use winrar to extract it. I suggest you do this all inside a new folder like My Work 01

When extracted you will get a folder of png files and the rtconfig.txt file and another file, xxxxx.ReaperTheme
That file is the one that holds the info that you can modify in reaper with the theme tweaker....
If you also modify the png files those will be in the other folder of pngs.

OK when that is all done to your taste...
you select both the folder of pngs and the theme file and
use winrar or whatever to create a new zip file that is named like:

My Mod Theme.ReaperThemeZip.zip

That will contain all the pngs and the theme info [like where you started from].... it can be named anything you want.
Then you remove the .zip from the end of it and you can move that to whatever computers you want and drop it on a running reaper.
