Default Balance Control Code? and Meter Control

Where is some good code to copy for a simple -100/+100 balance control. I checked out a bunch of JS in reaper, but found nothing I was sure did nothing more than perform a pan/balance function.

Also I was disappointed in the lack of meter control. I was expecting something like Meter(position,input,text) function, but found nothing. Am I missing something, or is there a fairly simple workaround other than using Sliders as meters?

Thank you
Don

For the panning/balance you can just do
Code:
slider1:0<-100,100,1>Pan (%)
@slider
    pan = slider1*0.01;
    l = pan > 0 ? 1-pan:1;
    r = pan < 0 ? 1+pan:1;
@sample
    spl0 *= l;
    spl1 *= r;
Regarding the meter, you can use the @gfx code to do one: http://www.reaper.fm/sdk/js/#sec_gfx
