Default Leveling Under Master Bus With MIDI

I discovered that I can place one instance of my virtual instrument in the master bus and the # of tracks nested within that master bus don't need to have the plugin loaded. I can get my drums with one instance of the plugin running. This is really neat.
But now how do I adjust the db of each track individually for mixing and use other fx like eq and reverb on separate tracks under the master?

i assume you are talking about MIDI tracks, obviously you can't apply audio FX to MIDI, so you would need to send each drum from the VSTi to a separate audio track and apply your EQ etc to these tracks.

Like domzy, I'm assuming you mean a VSTi plugin for the drums.

Depending on the plugin, it might have mixer/EQ settings for each drum in the plugin itself. If it does, that might be preferable to splitting out the audio of each drum to a separate track/FX-chain in Reaper.

OK thank you. Was hoping for a way to send the fx from the tracks to the master. Will just load the drums on each sub track fx.

What VST instrument are we talking about?
Many can be configured so that each element (kick, snare, hats, etc.) can be sent to individual audio tracks for processing.
Only one instance of the actual instrument needs be loaded in the project in such a case.

That's actually what I would prefer yes!
SSD5 Free is the VI specifically.
I have hat/crash/ride/snare/kick/toms all on separate tracks because I wanted to specifically eq and level them separately.
This approach makes it a lot harder to write the more complex drum lines. I would really love to just be able to write the entire drum part on one track and then send each/multiple MIDI note (C3/B2/G2/F2-the toms; to one track and then say, C2-the kick to its own track for leveling and eq.)

I've not used that VSTi so I don't know if it has multiple output capability. Check out this vid. This is what you are trying to achieve, I think.
