Default Synching after tempo change

If I have a project that has midi and audio tracks and I change the tempo, everything stays synched as long as there's just one tempo for the entire song, but when there are several tempo changes, and I change any of them. the audio is completely out of synch.
I've tried setting the timebases to Beats, position, length, but still no luck.
Is there a way to make this work?

You need to insert stretch-markers where there are tempo-changes.

Thanks, tried it, but still couldn't get thing to line up for more then 2 or 3 bars before drifting out of sync. I seems like once I record a vocal to a midi track that has tempo changes, I can't change any more tempos without having an out of sync vocal.

I updated this to give a bar or [grid] beat option (so if you right click the snap magnet and set it to 1/2 it will insert the stretch marker every half bar when set to beat), if you have sustained notes like a bass you get an artifact where the stretch marker is, to remove them from a sustained ending use (beats won't work with the grid set to swing, that's a Reaper issue, so use bar)
Item: Remove all stretch markers in time selection

right click Save Link/Target As
ReaTrak set item bpm and fit to project tempo map.lua
