Midi Editor: Right clicking on CC data erases them. Why?
Is there a way to stop erasing CC data by right-clicking on them? I cannot find any setting, mouse modifier or anything at all about it.
It seems to be a default Midi Editor function and it's a constant pain. (e.g. when trying to check event properties). If that is the case, it is completely redundant as the global Reaper modifier for erasing stuff (ALT+click) works here as well. AFAIK this is the only occasion where a right-click erases something. Please remove this or add an option to deactivate it.
Note that this happens only when right-clicking on cc data stem. Right-clicking anywhere else opens a context menu, as expected.

Hi!
How do you mean? I can only edit the right mouse drag behavior there (Marquee), not right clicking.
Can't find the right click context for CC events anywhere. Not in MIDI Editor, nor in MIDI CC event mouse modifiers.

There's no right-click context. Can you post the screenshot of how the context I mentioned looks on your side?

Hmmm yeah that looks fine. I have it like that as well and I don't get CCs removed when I right-click them...

Thanks. Hmmm... that's strange.
Here's what I get when I right click in the MIDI editor.

Did you try to reset all mouse modifiers to default? Does it happen on a fresh portable install of Reaper?

I just made a new portable installation. It happens with this too, exactly the same way.

I just tried an v5.941 installation I had on an old laptop, it happens there too!
I'm curious... On your system, what happens when you right click on a CC event stem (selected or not)?

I'm jealous.
I'd appreciate if you could let me know what happens on a vanilla portable version on your system. Just trying to understand which system is the exception, mine or yours. No rush of course. Again, thanks!

Behaves the same as my config...
Could it perhaps be your mouse? Can you try a different mouse?

Hehe, just tried it. Different mouse didn't work, same thing as before.
If fresh portable versions behave in different ways for two systems... real mystery. :/
Can anybody else chime in on this, please?

Yes. I have the same behavior: right click on the bar and it deletes. (Win10 laptop w/ trackpad)
I will try on my Win 7 system and get back.
New file
create midi item
draw in some notes
draw in pitch CCs
right click on a CC bar > gone!
Reaper 5.978
