'theFRXST' theme
Update #2
The theme is now live! download: Click here
Update
I consider my theme donationware. It is free but if you find value in it and want to send some numbers my way, the option is there.
Donate
Now I have to say I thought to myself thinking 'oh this should only take a 2-3 days'. It took 2-3 weeks solid of doing nothing but this to finish it up. I'm glad it's complete. I'm quite happy with it. Even though there's a lot to be desired because Reaper isn't fully unlocked for creating themes.
I also created a bunch of icons but I have not figured out how to use them the way I want.
With Ableton it auto creates a custom folder icon. I'd like that to happen with Reaper.
Gotta figure out the stash, Uploading either today or tomorrow. Will update this thread again when I do.

Icons/Splash
Original Post:
I been making my own theme... so naturally, of course, I'd name it after myself.
I'm pretty new to Reaper and have been slowly moving away from Ableton. I maybe have not thought of everything but this theme is for my needs and not really built to be 'the' theme for everyone. Plus I don't fully understand walter. Lots of trial and error lol.
The goal of it is to have it as neutral/simple as I could make it, so I don't have to think about the program itself and just get to work. It's some sort of hybrid of Photoshop, Ableton, Reaper and personal taste.
I still need to clean up files before uploading but I wanted to share a screenshot.

Looks great. Love the little Reaper logo in the upper left, and the simple, flat look overall. Will definitely check this one out once it's up.

I like it already: minimal, 2D, knob stacks.
How does it handle the elements with a narrow TCP? I'll have to wait and see.
Thanks for sharing, the FRXST.

Love the Splash Screen with the pic, font and font size. Also excellent choice for colors as orange, grey and black. Hope those colors stay and get implemented dominantly in the theme layout.. Certainly works for Reaper. Keep it coming !

I have to say that I'm very impressed. Elements clearly stand out while being easy on the eye. It's the best theme I've seen in a while. Can't wait to use it.

Nice theme! Looks really complete and stacked well.
There are couple of bugs (or maybe nitpicks) in my opinion:
1. The font for toolbar text icons is too big
2. The transport is missing selection display and the status display is cutting some of the info.

WOW MAN.
THIS IS REALLY AMAZING!!!!.
The sliders on the mixer is awesome. The minimal track panel is great too. Very easy on the eyes and it just make sense.
You have taste.

trying to offer help
what exactly is your problem mentioned about icon files?
are they toolbar icons or what?
There exist a few diff ways to deal with this...
Also you might want to know about this:
https://pnggauntlet.com/
It is free and works great in that you can drop the whole folder of the theme png files onto it and let them compress... results in faster functioning and smaller theme size... [often by a lot!]
I'll wait to hear more about the 'problem' with icons

Screenshot?
1. I personally don't like font too small.
2. I on purpose removed the time section start, end and loop size. I never look at it.

With ableton when you save your project, it'll create a folder and collect all samples etc for that project.
But what it does auto make that folder to have a custom ableton folder icon. It's just so damn professional. I want that experience still with Reaper.
Maybe there's a way to do this? I have not looked too much into it yet at this point.

Ah I cant even find those options lol atm.
It's only cutting off words like 'playing' 'stopped' etc which there's visual indicators with the actual transport buttons on what's happening.

The Transport Time Display mode is synced with the Timeline Display mode by default.
You can change both of them (de-sync them) by right-clicking on the Transport Status Display or the Timeline lane in Arranger and changing the options in the menu accordingly.
(This is Golden Rule Nr1 in Reaper - Right-click on EVERYTHING! - you will be amazed what you will find! )

Trust me.. if that was my preferred/default setting it'd bug me too lol.
Thanks for tip where those options are. I'm a advance user of Ableton and Adobe products. But if you've ever used Ableton in just arrangement view (like I always do) you'd know how limited the options are to do anything is.
Maybe when I get more in depth with projects in Reaper I'll feel the need to tweak and update my theme.

Yeah, I totally get you man
For me Reaper is one giant (and almost freely-arrangeble) shortcut-board. The downside about this is that there are many functions hidden under context menus and you really have to learn the right places to right-click to take full advantage from them. I am still discovering hidden functions behind Ctrl-Clicks

Yeah it's taken me quite a while to set it up to the way I'd like, still not 100%.

Removed it on purpose. Found it to clutter the ui. I created an action to mimic how photoshop handles folders.
Create folder for selected tracks
I set that to CTRL+G and have a toolbar icon that's a folder to that.

I love this theme - really great work theFRST!
Is there any possibility of you making a light (ie white/grey-ish) version of this theme at some point? I love the uber flatness of this theme but I find dark themes hard to work with.
Big thanks
Ben

This theme looks awesome, but it's not matching the screenshot in my version. The mix panel doesn't have the little color tabs that yours has above the faders, and the send knobs don't look like your, they look like the default reaper "bars."
Any thoughts on how to get it looking closer to your screenshot from the reaper stash? Thanks!
EDIT: After fooling around for a bit I think I got it figured out.
Enable "Tint Track Panel Backgrounds" in the "Appearance -> Track Control Panels" tab to get the extra color tabs.
And now I realize the nobs in the mixing page are FX parameters, not sends. So enable "display FX perameters when size permits" to see them.

Was the omission of the "selection display area" (where it shows the time selection start, end and length) a conscious decision?

Thank you Ben. There is no possibility of this happening from me. If it was just color values instead of images, maybe.. but it's not the case.

Yes it was. I have never used it since I can just look at where I'm selecting already. If I need to be on point I make sure snap is on.

Thanks for the feedback guys. There will be an update sooner or later on the theme to fix some minor stuff.

Still my no.1 theme. Just wondering about another design decision - omitting input fx button on TCP also conscious? Would be great to have it but I think I remember you saying you've retired this theme.
