Thanks Stinger. I do like Devo. The pic is actually french infantry from 1913 (public domain from Wikipedia).

My artistic director (wife) said that the original chorus vocals were too melodic for the subject matter. Similarly she didn't like the way that I raised the pitch of my vocals at the end of each verse. So, I rearranged the chorus vocals so that they don't follow the chord progression and I re-recorded the last line of each verse to follow the same melody as the previous lines. However, I retained the original verse endings and used them as a harmony (which was acceptable to the artistic director). I also shortened the song by removing a section at the end part of the song, and I removed the breakdown after the second chorus and replaced it with an extension of the chorus.

The song is now mixed with less compression, and is therefore at a lower volume overall.

The file has been updated with a third version. I have played around with the compression a bit more and this version is a bit louder and the volume is more even, hopefully still retaining enough dynamics. The vocals mix is also a bit dryer.

Sounds good to me. punchy in the rhythm. and the melodies do fit the song i think. Good job.
