Default New Song - Countdown to the next shoe

A new song featuring my buddy Polymod. We're both playing a few guitars and both singing on this one.

https://www.soundclick.com/music/son...ongID=14431087

I'm on 12-String electric, 6-String, bass, drums, Kontakt orchestra and vocals. Polymod is on acoustic, Les Paul, Telecaster, pianos, synths, and vocals.

The song theme is "when's the next shoe going to drop" in this current bad news era.

Great sound - clean and tight. And right on the money - what's it going to be next? Maybe we need a change at the top?

BTW, love the little rolling piano to end it....

Thanks Stinger. This was the first time me and Poly both sang on a project. More often than not, we just do instrumental stuff, coz we both play a bunch of different instruments.

Poly is a world class keyboardist. That fast run he plays leading into the very end was played real time and not something he programmed.

Roaring twenties huh. The solo bit is super epic.

I bet you and my dad would really get on. You both have the same hair, mustache and musical taste. Anyways, your stuff always sounds so effortless and clean. Never overbaked or too derivative. My dad toured with a band called Dixie Peach for some years. They still play sometimes.

Thanks Zeekat. That's Poly stacking harmony guitars plus a real 1970s MiniMoog in that section.

The ring modulated sound is Poly's Sequential Circuits Prophet V synth. Bit of trivia, his online name "Polymod" comes from the Prophet V which has a "Poly-Mod" section.

He dyes his hair grey and listens to Snarky Puppy, like me?

Thanks! My dad also played in bands, but it was in the 30s and 40s. He played sax in big bands back then. He only played local clubs, but when I got a shot to go out with my first touring band, he let me quit high school my senior year to do it. I later made it up and graduated with my class on time. Then right out of high school got in another touring band that was my job for almost seven years.

Another bit of trivia: I originally wanted "SonicSix" for my online name, but surprisingly it was taken.
So I looked around at my toys and just picked another one ;-)

Ha! That I didn't know. It's a twist of fate.

Nice to see ya on this forum for a change.

Well, you've increased your post count here to 32, and I think you get some kind of promotion for that.

BTW, you kick ass on that piano in the back half of the song, and the solo that adds a new harmony each iteration is sooper cool!

LOL....thanks bro!
Always a fun time....I've been letting your playlist play for a while and it's amazing how many tunes you had me play on. But I really miss Joey's playing.

If you click the thumbnail image in the player while a song is playing, the top part of the screen will change to the info for the current playing song, which will show who is playing what instruments or vocals. If it's a vocal song, the lyrics will be below the credits.

Yeah, Joey's been gone for seven years now, but he appeared on a new song a couple of years ago. I had asked one of the better players here if he wanted to play on a song I was working on and he declined, so I sifted through a bunch of unreleased material with solos that Joey had played, and put him on the new song.
