request: limited panning
The basic opacity/zoom/pan effect works great, but it's too easy to overpan, making the picture slide off and creating a black area. Of course there's times when you want to do that, and of course this is unavoidable when zoomed out. But I'd like the option when zoomed in to have the pan limited so that no black appears. In other words, the window of what we see must always be fully contained in the video. Can anyone do this?

You have 2 options:
1) modify the o/z/p preset to calculate a zoom based on an arbitrary center. 2) put an envelope on the x and y offsets to compensate for the position. Otions #2 is probably your best option in the short term and it's not too complicated to put in place. As for option 1, I'm sure I have done that in the past but my main Reaper computer died today... |
