Default Halo (instrumental)

Hey guys, recently I finished an instrumental I`ve been working on for quite some time and I would really appreciate any kind of feedback you could give me. Critique the musical aspects, the technical aspects or anything else you like. Thank you in advance and I hope you enjoy my tune!

Pretty cool. Has that R&B / Hip-Hop type of vibe but with great guitar melodies instead of those obnoxious vocals you hear on the radio in this type of stuff!

cheers

I agree with Hugo - it's a nice series of simple melodies over a simple beat with some neat synths. I'd like to hear more in this style.

I think the only real criticism I have (hopefully constructive!), is I'd work on my timing a bit - the guitar just seems a bit "behind" the beat, but not too bad. It might be done on purpose, but it just seems slightly off-beat. But I like it - the music is there, just needs some "cleaning".

Guys first of all thank you for taking the time to listen and comment on my tune, I really appreciate it! As far as the timing of my guitars goes I really did it on purpose because I don`t like when my music sounds too perfectly snapped to the grid and so I wanted the guitars to be a little off-beat. Maybe I could done this with the others instruments and not so much with the guitars but I guess this is something I need to think about. Anyway thank you Dimaension X for this really constructive criticism and for making me think about this stuff again!

I agree with you - I listened to the track and didnt notice a timing issue until I read the comments!

Its funny I dont like things being too perfect either. Having said that I notice loads of timing mistakes in my own recordings that make me wince a bit that others dont notice at all.

Listening on headphones.

It's a little weird regarding stereo-focus.

I could also like a little better focus in arranging and mixing,
choose what's in the spotlight and put that first on stage.
On the atmospheric parts, they're a little harsh/hard on my ears,
and seems to loose focus sync/timing-wise. That's maybe what you want, maybe not.
I'm not sure if the noisy/overdriven-sounds fits the song, a little disturbing to me.
Else, I do like it
