for real though, REAPER has had more user requested features implemented in the last 2 months than most DAWS have in the last 2 years, and the scripting API's just keep getting improved. 6 is just a number

I suppose June 6 would be the clever release date.

I'm kind of fine with Reaper as it is, I just want the bright menu backgrounds tint-able/dimmable and a graphic routing scheme. I presume it will be more optimized, but mostly a visual upgrade. I would think vector graphics ala Fruity would future proof it?

However the version numbers end up...

Cockos seems to give us really good value for the money. I never once thought that I was being wringed for money by Cockos. I can't say that for most other daw/audio software that I have paid for.

I'm unsatisfied with my investement made early Version 4 can I get my money back ?

So I can pay for version 6 ?

;-)

The value is just mind blowing. Anybody who was like me as a teenager in the '80s-90's hoping to record would have to buy 50K of equipement to get so so results, I'm completely in awe of what I get for free/cheap these days.

It's like the engineer wannabe in me does'nt want to die. Still collecting plugins I know I won't use the craving for audio stuff I really had it bad I am 'trautamtized' by inaccess I had in those days.

whats the fixation with the number 6..
The devs are constantly updating+ upgrading the software with 5.9xxxx versions
{check pre release section}, so who is going to work on this "version 6" ??
the steinberg team ?

I've cracked it! Well, believe I have... Made a graph of all the releases since 3.5 and there seems to be a pretty straight schedule since 4.0... just take a look at the attached pdf.

So, can you wait untill september ???

This whole thread and that rather clever PDF confirms (to me at least!) that Reaper users are truly bonkers!
