Default floating Mute/solo

Is there any option to have a floating window that you can solo or mute any track from instead of having to keep scrolling up and down through the sometimes many tracks? I tried the routing matrix and the track manager but neither seemed to have the option to do this. Thanks

Try the track manager. You can see far more tracks at once and there is a little 'M' checkbox that allows you to mute/unmute any of them. I believe this can be floating or docked.

The Track Manager as Joe90 said. Found under the View menu.

Also try the "Console" command that comes with the SWS extension. (Press 'c' if SWS is installed.)

I use that to mute and solo tracks from anywhere in the project without having to scroll to the track or directly touch it in any way.

... and in case you're not aware ... click the little pin on the Track Manager title bar to keep it always on top.
