Default Nord midi insert file anybody?

Hi guys,
I have been sent a Nord keyboard midi file and I cannot seem to insert it to Reaper. 'Could not import item'.
Normally I have no problem inserting midi files but this is something new.
I have checked the forum but cannot find anything similar.
Do I need to convert this midi to SME? Can this be done?
Many thanks in advance
Steve

MIDI is MIDI. If Nord puts out something other than standard MIDI files, you WILL need a converter.

I assume you meant SMF. by the way.

Maybe ask whoever sent you the file if they could re-do it as a type 0 or type 1 SMF? (Standard Midi File)

OOps yes I meant SMF. Is it possible to covert the file without going back to the sender. He has taken a month to get the files to me and I'd rather not ask. I do have separate WAV files from the Nord which I can use if I have to but I'm not fussed with the sound from the Nord. Thank you for your reply.

What is the file suffix on the one he sent you? If it isnt .Mid or .Midi he will have to send you the right thing or you`ll be using those wav files.

Thanks again and sorry for the delay getting back. He is going to try to resend as standard midi.
Cheers
