Default Pan/vol_info_bg

Hears my atempt at a mashup theme but the thing that still bugs me is the way the pan/vol info has no box to contain it macking it look messy and out of place.

Hears protools mixer section (much neater imagine how this would have looked had they not boxed in the pan and vol info .)

So I suggest a png file for mcp_paninfo and tcp_paninfo plus the ability to change the color of the text independently from track text.

Hears is the forthcoming daily duty theme which will require this file to work propally.

So please support this FR

I like the idea. It would definitely make things more readable.

If you have decided whether you want to have the info on top (or on the bottom) of the channel strip you could integrate it in the channel background. You couldn't use it the other way round then 'though.

I know, this isn't a very good idea, especially if you want to make it public.

I don't know what you mean I simply want a background .png for the text to reside in it would work exactly like the name_background.png so it would work either top or bottom . At the moment you can't do this with the Chanel background with pans top because it stretches and pink wont stop it.

Hears the lengths you have to go to but this has its own problems .

This has my support.

Hiding would be a nice option too - in order to reduce clutter for the people who want as simple an interface as possible.

I got what you meant Jedstar, but as we don't have extra .pngs for vol/pan info, my proposal was to include the graphics that this .png would show into mpc_bg and mpc_bgsel. It won't stretch if you put the pink line from the top left corner from pixel 0 to pixel 60 on the left edge.

As I said: it's not a really good solution, 'cos you'd need a second set of mcp_bg files, hence a second theme if you wish to have the caption at the bottom. But for the time being....

Unfortunately it does stretch have a look at this theme

I've almost got round it using overlays but its a complete faf uses more cpu and wont let you have the selected track as a different color

Jedstar, you're right I'm afraid to say.

My proposal works only if "Send FX"..., "Show sends"... and "Show FX Parameters"... are switched off or none of them is visible. Too bad.

It isn't quite clear to me, why mcp_bgs are stretched beneath the other graphics if one of the above mentioned is switched on. For all these there are other pngs that overlay the background, hence it isn't seen.

But I must admit, I'm not that deep into theming. I just made quite a few changes to Pyerbass' great API theme making it fit more to my own needs.

This and MCP/TCP number/folder indicator background graphics should both go to the tracker?

Another reason we want this, instead of using overlays (_ol), is because they require more CPU to run (per Cockos).

Thanks for the support.

Could you submit it as I don't know how to add to the tracker and it would be better coming from such an experienced member as yourself..

Its Frankenzilla blue but I've stopped supporting it as I find mongrel far more productive. It should still be up in stash http://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=38762
