I'm not sure what an ingerention is. By default, REAPER runs at 64 Bit float.
If you have recorded 24 bit audio, the Bit Meter will display 24 bits of resolution when the audio is playing, but if you make any gain changes, you're using higher bit depth processing, so the audio signal will now include higher bit depth values. The Bit Meter will then reflect this.
I'm not sure how a simple VU meter could add gain to a signal, but unless the audio sounds worse, I wouldn't worry. Just keep the measurement plugins in the Monitor FX section and they won't impact your audio at all when you render.
I would guess that JS Channel Phase Meter is less problematic than JS Phase Meter because the former is an OG JS plugin and the latter might be buggy.
