Crashes crashes crashes

F*** this piece of s**tware and it's constant crashes when I return to the program window after visiting another app. Good luck using this weird, unstable and erratic software in a demanding setting.

I'm so annoyed because I want to like it, but it's giving me a buttache.

If you want help you have to be helpful with details. Otherwise good luck. Software can be frustrating but it will likely take many more more than your 14 posts to solve it. It took me over 10000 to get here!

Hey! Yes I know, I have no details, just letting out some steam. Since Reaper saves no logs I believe I won’t have any details in the future either. I don’t know if there’s anything I can actually do but to hope that some update will fix this or I’ll encounter the reason for this randomly at some point. Sorry I lost some hours of work so I just needed to let it out.

Surely if someone has any idea where to look I’ll be more than happy to do so.

In addition to Schwa's suggestion: one of the most common sources of crashes is faulty plugins installed. So if you can name the plugins you tried to use when Reaper crashed, it could help to determine the culprit.

Thank you everyone! I’ll have a look at this and I’ll promise to get back here to update any findings to facilitate the discussion. If we find out why this is happening maybe someone else will find it useful as well.

You might also want to check out the free user guide & the free video tutorials at reaper.fm... There are also a bunch of excellent third party video tutorials out there.
On a more practical (immediate) note, if reaper is your first DAW, download glitch free, an e-booklet that tells you how to set your computer and audio/MIDI interface up for the best and also download & install resplendence.com`s free latency checker application, which will check out your system & let you know if you have any issues in your settings or hardware that need fixing.

However, my money is on flakey plugin(s) too. Good luck!
