I have a lot of files that I have created in the past in Cakewalk. I am importing to play in Reaper - no luck. I am at my wits end trying to figure out what the issue is.
I can get the separate midi tracks split to separate reaper tracks. I set up the shortcircuit vsti and load a gm sf2 soundfont file to say a specific track. I can play the piano to the left of the midi editor and hear the notes. When I play the track no sounds. I can insert a note in the editor and it plays when I hit the play button. None of the imported midi notes play.
OK, I did a search and saw a comment where the imported midi notes are set to channel 2 where as when midi notes are imput into the midi editor they are set to channel 1.
Confirmed that when I selected all notes and set them to channel 1, they played.
