Default How to avoid splitting items when inserting blank space/beats in the middle of a song

My example.

Also any way to avoid the audio getting off time with other tracks when tempo changes?

i could be wrong, but i would assume it's not possible to avoid splitting an item when inserting a space into it. I believe Reaper works on a non-destructive basis and inserting silence into a file would imply a destructive edit, i think.
If you need it to be a continuous file you could perhaps glue the two parts after you have inserted the gap.

Yee i figured. Maybe i can make a custom action or something... Just kind of annoying when dealing with a huge project with lots of audio and midi. I just feel im always gluing lol. I'll get back to you when i make something to counter it. If i can lol.
