Editing note edge

Hi all,
So yesterday, when I tried to edit the leading edge of a midinote, the whole length is suddenly reduced to virtually nothing. Can someone please tell me what I've done.
It works OK if I edit from the right side, adjusting the length toward the left.

pay attention to what you have set for grid size and snap on or off

you certainly can edit note length as expected from either side... well I can anyway

you should see the cursor change when you hover at the ends of the note...

if you don't see it then zoom in so the notes are larger

Thanks for the advice, Hopi.
Still remains a mystery, however.
Funny 'cos it worked alright in previous projects.

Since posting, I've had to opt for a PC reset. Maybe the problem was an indication of
some kind of file corruption. Who knows!

Think I'll soon need some advice on where to store the new Reaper; internally or
externally, alongwith the plugins etc.
