Looking For Feedback About Amplitube's MODO Bass
Is anybody here using Amplitube's MODO Bass?
I am mostly happy with the Scarbee Rickenbacker Bass VSTi, but there are a few things it doesn't do as well as I would like it to.
MODO Bass looks super cool, as long as it lives up to the hype they publish on the web page.
Any recommendations for or against MODO Bass would be appreciated.

Thanks -- I've got the demo.
I'm mostly looking for the kind of stuff you only find out after using it for a while -- any gotchas or deficiencies that might make me consider spending the money elsewhere.

I have it. Totally love it. It sounds very realistic, and unlike the sample based VSTIs I was using before, it sits very consistantly in the mix.
For example, Prominy SR5 was the last VSTI I used, and I still think its good. However, it was difficult for me to get the overall bassline to have a consistant attack, and cohesive overall sound. Different samples from different strings.. parts of the neck etc.. seemed to have different timbre in a way that kept it sounding a bit sampled.
Modobass does not have that inconsistent impact and the articulations are well done and sound good. It seems to sit well in the mix by default and you just get to tweak to make it sound better.

My thoughts on MODO bass.
4/5 points for layout and I find the sound styles versatile and it's easy to work with.
Good consistent sound as mentioned in the post above.
3,5/5 points for sounds.
It is not sample based and I hear some things that sound artificial compared to when I play a real bass.
That might not be heard in a mix though.
Overall it's good, but to me it doesn't do anything "best" compared to other products.
To me it doesn't have the best funk/slap sound, not the best pop, rock metal sounds.
So if I'm using software bass I tend to use several programs, not MODO.
I prefer using my real bass over any software though.

One more question ...
On the web page ( http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/modobass), they say:
* Full MIDI control with MIDI learn, keyswitches
* Full DAW automation control support
In the demo version I see the MIDI control (although I would not go so far as to say that it provides "full" control, since there are not MIDI controls for all of the parameters I can control in the GUI).
However, with the demo version, the only two parameters that show up in Reaper for automation are "Bypass" and "Wet". I wonder if that is just a limitation of the demo mode? Or if maybe they don't understand what "full DAW automation support" means. I was hoping that the few parameters that don't have MIDI control would be available for DAW automation, but it doesn't look that way.
Can any MODO users say whether the full version offers more parameters for DAW automation?
