"Info Line" a la Cubase
One feature of Cubase that I use CONSTANTLY is the Info Line. For those of your unfamiliar with it, it's a black bar that, when turned on, resides just under the toolbar, just above your tracks. It contains basic info, as text, about any selected item, event, region, or automation event, such as item volume and position.
The best part about the Info Line is that it's 100% mouse wheel compatible. If I want to make fine adjustments to a selected item, I just mouse-over the desired field, and use the mouse wheel. Makes it VERY easy (and VERY accurate) to bump something forward a few ticks, mute an item, change its volume, etc. And all without dragging, or having to change my zoom view.
I would LOVE to have that option in Reaper. The little "tool tip" items that pop up are ok, but they're not persistent. The Info Line let's me work MUCH faster, especially because I can be confident about what I'm doing, because it's directly in front of my face!
