Default Aupreset export issue after the first instance

Hey there lovely people of the Reaper OSX forum,

I'm tearing my rare hair out, that's how frustrated I got, so I turn towards you people, please help me

For some reason when I want to export the first .aupreset for whichever AUi plugin, it works. However, any time after that I get an error saying

Can't create the path:
/Users/minotaur/Library/Audio/Presets/Naughty Seal Audio/Perfect Drums

In this instance it's with Perfect drums. This stands for any filename I choose as long as the directory exists (and it does of course). However, I delete this folder and the preset in it, then I can export again ONE time. If I decide to just move the aupreset I first created, it'll still show up in my list of presets, however I still get the same error message, and can't save.
Permissions should be right: I granted read&write to my username in this folder (and all subsequent folders).

What am I missing? Why does it want to create a folder again, when it's there already?

(I wanna use this method cause Perfect Drums' preset saving functionality SUCKS and it doesn't save jackshit, not my internal routing, not my samples, I guess it's still buggy. Anyway I want to have the same routing across multiple computers that have the same Reaper setup, and I noticed that saving as an aupreset saves everything exactly I need... only that I can have 1 file saved once in a lifetime, currently at least. Is this a Reaper bug? Or an OSX issue?)

Latest High Sierra, I tried both the latest 5.71pre20 release, but it's the same result with the stable 5.70, both on my i7 mid-2015 15" MBP and i5 mid-2012 13" MBP.

Any help is very much appreciated, thank you in advance!

To me this sounds like a bug in Perfect Drums.

Check the access rights to the folder again ... I compared with my Native Instruments stuff and there my user account has read/write and the groups Staff and Everyone have read access rights.

Check, if it helps if you add those two groups with read access.

If it doesn't I would contact support of PD.

PS: I would also test, if it works when using PD VST instead of AU.

Unfortunately all AUi does the same when I want to create a new aupreset file.
Not to say that Perfect Drums is bug-free, far from that, but I think this is an issue created by Reaper when accessing/writing directories or files...

I did, unfortunately it was already like that. But thanks to your idea, I tried doing the same with exporting a VSTpreset file and that actually works, so I think I'm just gonna use that...

We'll see if there's any difference in performance between the two.
Thanks for your comment!

PS you guys think I should report this aupreset file write issue as a bug in Reaper?

I always use VST, if possible and use AU only, if no VST is alternatively available, because AU has no MIDI out, which I sometimes use for routing MIDI to a different instrument track.

This is one reason, why I prefer Reaper over Logic

Performance should be identical.

It sounds like it's a Reaper bug, so yes, a bug report makes sense.

It seems this got resolved, although I saw no update about it, but with the 5.77 stable release this bug does not occur anymore. Thanks, developers, you're awesome
