WIP : ColdSteel
I've been working on this one for a while....mostly done now.
I still have to work on transport controls, scrollbars, toolbar icons, vu's and the overall colour scheme.
It's usable just now and I think I need some input from you kind people. Why don't you give it a try and give me some feedback?
UPDATED 30/8 : New transport buttons and much nicer vu meters. Better?

I like it!
The sliders buttons (is that the right term?). Anyway... they look very "Cold Steelish" and life like!

Looks like a late 70's Pioneer stereo receiver my brother had...
All shiny and chrome-y with big ol' buttons and knobs. That thing sounded awesome BTW...
D
PS Actually... it looks like a Case pocket knife!

One of the rare ones where I didn't feel inclined to start tinkering with it right away! Good choices of colours etc IMHO.
The engravings on the buttons might be just a little too subtle for a new user perhaps?
But very nice and a favourite here right away!

Looks sweet!

I think that the vertical faders should be the same size than horizontal faders. Also the mixer bockground is a bit too shiny, and the buttons are still not very easy to read (maybe grey button with black label?). The meter backgrounds and record button could also be improved.
BTW...Excellent theme!!!
This is the most fotorealistic I'v seen.

Great Theme!
I just wish I could see the fx,phase,etc.. symbols better...
they are almost invisible until you put mouse over when they turn white.....

I spent a little time using this theme today and I must say I like it. 2 things I think would make it even better...
1. fader slider in mixer same size as on the track
2. darker symbols on the buttons. They are very hard to read without mousing over them.
Other wise awesome, I love it!! Nice job and thanks so much for all the hard work. The stuff you guys come up with is amazing.

Hmm... consensus seems to be that the buttons are hard to read. Would it be better if I made them as bright as the mouseover state?
Also the big faders were meant to help people who don't have a hardware controller...something big to grab hold of. (with the mouse)
I could easily make a smaller one for those who want it.

Nothing wrong with big faders IMHO. Screens are progressively getting higher res over the years and so what's big today is shrinking tomorrow.
Yes, I guess if the present mouseover state became the normal state of the buttons, and the mouseover state became darker than that, it would be clearer. For some of us, the function and location of each button is now sufficiently familiar that if they were totally invisible at all times we'd probably manage, but newer users need a bit more help.

You hit it on the head. I'm running @ 1920x1200,
all the Themes I use have nice big fader buttons.
It's not like the size of the fader button
takes space away from anything, so why not..
I'd rather have button surface area over "white space" anyday.
(so long as there is a bit of "white space" for definition)

Cojomo, I liked this one so much that I made it my default theme.
The only thing I would complain is the small button size in the transport bar...
Cheers
