Is there a way to change an automation track to lower everything whilst keeping everything relative to each other the same? Thanks

ok thanks, I was hoping you could marquee the whole automation and then move it like I've seen in another DAW.

Well, actually you can. Just use automation items and in its properties there are some sliders to move things.
