Best Photo Editor for Making themes?
Hi,
i wanted a photo editor that is just enough to Produce reaper theme UI elements.
I don't want to use photoshop or anything like that cuz it's packed with features that i would rarely use and these are heavy softwares for my computer.
I want basic functionalities out of it.
Any Suggestions?

And if GIMP is too much and you're a Windows user, maybe Paint.NET. Donationware, simple UI, lots of plugins to extend the basic features when needed.

I really like the combo of Affinity Photo and Designer. Much better UI than Gimp or Inkscape, easy to use, inexpensive, free updates, lots of video tutorials. They may be feature rich, but like a DAW, it's easy to ignore the stuff you don't need and focus on mastering the things you do. Highly recommended.

Thanks for the recommendations but i really liked the Paint.Net as it's very lite and expandable and has a more than average ui that just works great for me

For years I've been using the freeware version of an obscure program called Photofiltre. Version 7, I think, is free. It has layers, lots of controls, but not overwhelming. Support for photoshop plugins, also.

Affinity Designer is great for UI Design, especially for handling global colors and exporting all assets instantly.
It's just nice to be able to work from a single project/file, instead of hundreds of small images.
+ It's vectorial so you can export for 1080p or Retina/etc if necessary

Affinity Designer is great. The automatic export feature is particularly nice, as well as their Symbols feature. Once you learn it, it's a fantastic tool.
I have a theme thread up with a link to the project file I used. You could use that as a base.
