Default AAF / OMF SUPPORT

Hey everyone! Is there a way to work with AAF or OMF import in reaper? Any news about it?
Thanks, and all the best for everyone

So far just AATranslator. It's the only option with professional support.

You can get test converts and even pay for single conversions which will go towards the price you'd pay for the full version (~$200).

Works. I use it every day.

AATranslator is current and effective for these and many other conversions.

By way of illustration, repeatedly I have encountered AAF files, created in ProTools that do not open in ProTools on other computers of the same OS and software version in the same facility. Chalk it up to operator error if you like but this is while I am teaching audio post production on (you guessed it) ProTools in a school environment. I mention this because there are those who believe other programs in the industry can create perfectly usable AAF and/or OMF files. This is simply not the practical reality.

AAT is designed and maintained through diligent hard work to overcome this inconsistency.

Thanks everyone! Hope one day it will be supported within reaper... I'll have to stick with the old .wav consolidated files workaround :P

You really should get ahold of the AAT developer. He would be happy to do an example translation for you. That way you can see if it's worth it for the time it saves. I say this because it may not be, it might not deliver track layouts and automation in a way that is ultimately useful to you. That said, it might do just what you need.

Vordio 6 Coverts Aaf and works perfect for me since i am on a Mac.
Not as ideal as native support of course.
I think this is a handcuff for Reaper in Post Production field.
It's been asked for many years and by many.
Let's hope it happens in the future.
