Default Is this behavior correct?

Hello,

I am very new to Reaper and am seeing what I consider strange behavior. I am controlling Reaper's transport controls via MIDI. If Reaper is the top most window, it starts up fine. If I start it up as the top most window and then open another window, it continues to play properly. However, if playback is stopped and I open another window, I see the word "offline" repeated in all of its tracks, and it won't start via the MIDI command. Is this normal?

I am running Reaper in OS X 10.11.3 on a 2012 2.6 GHz i7 quad core MacBook Pro with 16 GB of memory.

Thanks in advance for any help concerning this.

Tom

The behaviour you're seeing is useful if you use Reaper with an external audio editor for example, for this Reaper must 'release' (offline) the audio files when it's loosing focus so the files can be edited in the other editor.

You can prevent Reaper from offlining audio and closing the audio device when it's loosing focus in preferences though.

Preferences -> Audio -> untick "Close audio device when stopped and application is inactive"

and

Preferences -> Media -> untick "Set media items offline when application is not active"

edit:
Crosspost with bobobo

And welcome to Reaper forums.
