Methinks since you removed the Reaper X1 from the bottom of every track that you should extend the meters/faders down there. Other than that it's awesome!

The Sonar-ish theme looks amazing so far man, nice work! The transport looks fantastic, really like the separators, whole thing looks extremely "pro" and very usable! Maybe as it progresses would you consider ideas for rearranging the mixer button layouts to make it flow a little more with the Reaper workflow instead of just copying the Sonar layout? This could really morph into something unique and really incredible on it's own!

Maybe make the FX button a little less cryptic? I've never understood that symbol people use for the FX button in some themes! Probably because I'm slow, haha...
Looking so great so far though, favourite UI I've ever seen posted here!

I like the last one a lot jhrv.
Suggestion: could you try it with the buttons the same grey as the background? It should help with the cleaner look this theme is trying to achieve.
The knobs already have the same grey and looks smooth.

What hard work is it that your commending him on, exactly? Cutting and pasting elements from existing UI's in other DAW's?

I think this is the closest to ideal so far. Good job!
In an attempt to make the tracks a bit thinner, if the fader handle could be maybe 30% thinner, but keeping the same right margin to the VU, and the graticule for the fader moved over to be immediately along its left edge, the overall track width could reduce by a fair amount. Since there's only three buttons across the top, plenty of space to compact there, and the two stereo knobs could move a little closer together as well. That much would get the back to about the 'standard' Reaper track width in MCP. Even that size is sometimes problematic when working sessions with many tracks.
If push comes to shove, the vu's don't have to be quite so wide.
The track number could be moved just above the divider line, in line with the buttons, giving all the remaining horizontal space to the track name.
Could you give this a try and see if it is feasible?

You're kidding, right? Have you ever done any of this to realize how time consuming it can become? I doubt it.

This theme is looking fantastic! A very nice mix of "flatness" and clarity. I personally think the tracks are a bit wide in the mixer view, but overall it looks so neat it doesnt really matter. Ive always liked the sonar colour scheme but as well as being fairly hopeless as a DAW it's GUI is way too cluttered. Problem solved!

So because someone spends a lot of time copying other peoples work it somehow makes it ok?
Strange.

Does this help?
-- put the fader scale (graticule) either side of the fader track
-- shift the track number up to make the track name longer
-- reduce the overall width

[After doing this, I've just read what bblue said ...]

And, Thanks Cakewalk for making such an awesome GUI! You did an awesome job. (I mean it.)
Happy now?
P.D: Cockos is not responsible for the making of this theme, I am.

Take it elsewhere bub... There are plenty of themes floating around that are modeled after/inspired by other daw's. Practically all other DAW's have a theme for reaper.
Stop trying to piss on our parade.

east?,
look at x1 and this theme they are not copy/pasted,
of course bitching draws attention to the fact that every post you have made (ALL 14 of them )have been a problem you have with reaper.
Jhrv does not have to share this with anyone but that is the spirit of creative talented individuals around here.

Looking awesome!
"iVOLVE" ??
You'll have to change the name though. Otherwise, Jobs will send his Apple Lawyer Nazi Goon Squad to have a "word" with you. HE owns the letter "i" didn't you get the memo?
Looks nice. Keep it up!
