Default Preserving VST Settings from Mac to Windows

When I open Mac Reaper files on Windows, is there a way to force the project to replace the AUi with the VSTi? I've tried editing the Reaper file by replacing the VST names, and also by pasting the block of code after the VST name, but the old settings are not retained.

I don’t think this is possible. Your best bet is to either save presets for each aui plugin or switch and copy settings before moving to windows.

Yo, sign up on https://stash.reaper.fm/

The last link if you upload images will show directly on the forum if you post it. Slightly less limited than attachments...

But no, it's not even that easy converting presets from VST2 to VST3. Different animals...

Use Chromaphone's built-in presets browser to save your settings. Then find out where they're stored and copy them to the corresponding Windows location.

This also works for VST2 to VST3 in most cases.

Reaper's preset system is only useful if you're using Reaper exclusively on one computer or if the plugin doesn't have its own preset management system.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I'll give it a shot and report back. Still hoping to find a way to edit the project as well, because my Mac is very old and not so cooperative.
