Default My synthetic impulse response rings without decaying

Hi,
I've made my own synthetic impulse response by:
Creating a 2 second item and putting a pink noise generator on the track
Created a volume envelope that goes from 0db to -inf with a fast start shape
Added reaEQ with a low pass filter that goes from 20kHz to 200Hz with a similar profile
Applied FX to take and glued it to get my wav file

I create a new track with a synth on which has no reverb. Also add reaVerb and load in the wav file and also apply -18db gain.

There is certainly reverb but it doesn't seem to decay away. It just rings out the whole 2 seconds at a more or less same volume.

Very puzzled so would welcome suggestions on what I might be doing wrong.

Regards,

Castle

You created what kind of item? An empty item?

What take's that?

Maybe you could post (a link to) the "impulse" you generated?

Hi JRK,

Thank you, you've solved it for me. I went and listened to the actual wav file and it was just pink noise. Although I had applied EQ and volume envelopes to it I mistakenly thought that glueing it rendered it out applying FX. I was wrong.

What's an easy way to render an item applying track FX and then locating the resulting wav file in reaVerb?

Regards,

Castle

Doing this kind of thing, I've always just rendered via the render dialog (solo-ing if necessary) picking a suitable directory. Then in Reaverb, simply loading the rendered file.
