Sadly, TX16Wx simply doesn't work under Wine at the moment. I also don't think there are any Wine bug reports for this plugin, so maybe you can try submitting a bug report so the Wine devs at least know there's an issue? |

Thanks for the many ya-bridge followups! By chance do you have any of the
Izotope paid-but-light versions? , and if so, are you able to register them? When I try, they always say it's the wrong serial number, try offline authorization...but that get's the same wrong serial number. The plugins seem to run fine in demo mode, Iris, Ozone, Trash2, Nectar etc all received dirt-cheap or free at PluginBoutique. Serial numbers are correct, and pasted. Been trying for years, always thinking the latest wine or Ubuntu update will solve it. Reg worked in win 7, no problem, but that partiton crashed a year ago. Also, Korg M1 runs fine, but during registration attempts, the Korg site claims there is no internet connection!!! (As if anyone could even get to that site without an internet connection...again, offline reg is futility x 2. Cheers |

And for the Korg plugins you need to request the old installers on korguser.net. Those don't use the software pass and apparently they work just fine. (I don't own any Korg synths myself) |

Thanks for the detailed answers. I might have a puppy linux 32 bit
iso to experiment with, and a puppy savefile won't cause trouble elswhere. I'll see if anybody is home this week, over at Korgville. ...yikes, the morons running Korg's website have bungled my email address, it even pops up in their dialog...but somehow it's 'wrong'. Must be a bigwigs nephew on dope, it's been shoddily run for years. The instruments are great. Wish it would rub off on the rest of the business. I guess I'll try to make a new account, but I fear my email address will be detected as 'in use already'... |

d2d1.dll is basically not working very well in Wine. There are loads of plugins that won't run because of Wine's d2d1.dll A way to see that this is a GUI (d2d1.dll) problem is to try loading the plugin (TX16Wx) with the vst default interface checked (just the default plugin display) and then it will load. The plugin also issues a warning about d2d1 not being present and won't load when d2d1 is disabled in winecfg. There is not much anyone can do until Wine's d2d1.dll improves. overriding d2d1.dll is hard to do. The number of people working on Wine's d2d1.dll is effectively none. Does d2d1 deal with graphics card 'shaders'? I saw mention of unsupported shaders in terminal output while trying unsuccessfully to run Reason Intro, and the Reason Rack vst3i.
Perhaps oddly, Reason's nice Europa Synth loads and seems to work fine in demo mode. (it's now locked away as part of Reason, can't be purchased on it's own from propellerheads) What's hard about creating a d2d1.dll over-ride? Or do you mean it's hard to get it to perform correctly while it's over-riding? A list of plugins that rely on d2d1 or flop because of it, would be handy. A separate .wine could be made just for them, and experiments done with various era's d2d1's. Any cool tips regarding gdiplus, vulcan, or other componants and interactions? |

If someone could work out how to override d2d1 in a reliable way then that would be a big step to getting a lot of plugins to run. I havn't got much in the way of tips, just what's in the LinVst documentation. -------- The D2D1 namespace provides helper classes, functions, and structures that simplify common tasks, such as creating an identity matrix or creating a color https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/win...d2d1-namespace |

Thanks for your clarification. Now please help me to understand another thing: can the lack of this dll be fixed simply by making a request or presenting the problem to the developers of Wine? regards

I asked them about getting d2d1 to handle OP-X PRO-II and they weren't very interested. |
