Default please help me to find a proper theme for reaper

hi all,

i'm searching for a theme for reaper. i went through the stash, but tbh. i didn't really find one that suits me. now, what am i looking for? basically the most important things to me are:

1. uncluttered and clear, preferably flat - i don't need an "emulation" of old mixer desks (not to mock them at all [imperial is a work of art] - they look fantastic, but most of them simply need too much screen real estate).
2. as my eyes are really weak, it is important that all is clearly readable (peak margin/rms readouts, values, etc).
4. even though i have two monitors, i would like the mixer strips to be able to be small, but with maximum of columns to be shown.
5. the track that is selected should be clearly marked for easy identification.
6. quite some layouts to choose from would be nice.
7. i wouldn't mind for the theme to look kinda stylish.
8. the transport bar can be rather small in height.
9. please not overly colored (i'm not into smarties).
10. no need for protools style themes here.

the ones i've tried so far are (which are rather in my direction):

- the "janne" ones (of which the "2016 1.04" is the closest to my needs).
- the "i and flogic" ones, which look great, but the mixer strips are way too big and don't allow for sidebar inserts/sends.
- hydra, which is also very nice, but a bit cluttered looking...

sooo... i am in need of some of you rather experienced users to lead me the right path.
thanks a lot in advance.

The first REAPER theme I really loved when I really started getting into using REAPER for work all the time was "Paulie". I think it's an excellent theme, not the flashiest but very easy on the eyes. Super readable and a bunch of layouts....sounds like that could a good fit for you.
https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=172339

It has a small transport bar option in the layouts as well. for Colors its very much on the tasteful side, the background of the items are colored by default but that is really easy to change.

I've always loved the design elements of the default themes, but never found the way the colors were laid out to work with my workflow, recently I've been working on a custom version of default 5 and am loving it.

You might wanna consider finding a theme that is close and learning to customize it a bit. REAPER themes are really easy to modify.
