Default It is hoped that the voice can be heard when writing and previewing on non-SOLO track

It is hoped that the voice can be heard when writing and previewing on non-SOLO tracks, which is very necessary for transcription.
When transcribe (a piece of music), the track of the original song is usually in SOLO state, and then written and previewed on MIDI track. In the current situation, non-SOLO track and MUTE track can not be pronounced, so SOLO must be constantly switched to write notes. It's troublesome and inefficient. I hope it can be improved.

Can you elaborate on what you are doing? I'm not entirely sure I understand.

But if I get it, I think what you want is Solo-defeat.

It will leave the track permanently audible.

What is your native language by the way?

I do music transcription work, usually load the original audio track, then SOLO track, write notes in another MIDI track, when I listen to the original, MIDI is not able to simultaneously sound, just write. At present, I can't write notes and previews directly, because I can't hear sound when writing in non-solo state.
My mother tongue is Chinese. My English is not very good. It is converted by translation software. Ha ha ha!

Can you show me a screenshot of your project?

What is on the 'solo' track? There are three tracks in total?

Edit:

Oh I think I understand. You have tracks like this:

Original Song
MIDI Bass
MIDI Keys
MIDI Melody
and others like these

So you want to hear just the track you are writing for as well as the original song.

If this is true, you do want Solo Defeat on the original song, or just solo more than one track at a time.

The track arrangement is exactly what you said.
Does Solo Defeat seem like a useless feature?
My biggest problem right now is that MIDI tracks that are not SOLO cannot make sound when they are written and previewed.
Thank you very much for your attention and reply.

So you press solo on a MIDI track and it makes sounds while playing back, but if you unsolo it you no longer get sound?

My requirement is that the MIDI track is silent when playing, so that I can hear the original music without interference, but can make sound when writing and previewing.
Is this demand too much? Ha-ha!

Do you mean: the "new Midi" track should be muted (i.e. "solo" only for other track(s) ), unless the Midi editor window is highlighted ?

Such very special "features" in Reaper usually can be accomplished by scripts rather than dedicated built-in functionality of the main program.

No, it's not that complicated. This should not be a script solution. It is the setting of the software itself.

If I understand now, you want to be listening to the music without the MIDI, with a MIDI editor open. You input notes matching what you hear, and you want to hear them only when you input them just so you know they are right, but you do not want them to play back as you move through the song.

I can see why you want this workflow, it makes sense.

The reason this is very difficult is the flow of data.

The only solution I can think of is:

Change the MIDI editor channel to 16, or any channel that you are not using in your MIDI already.

Insert the plugin JS: MIDI Tool v2
Set Output Velocity Max to 0
Set input to channel 1
Click bypass in the top right corner
Now click 'Param' and it should say 'Last touched: Bypass'

Click parameter modulation, and set it as so:
Track audio channels 3+4
Min volume -60
Max volume -60
Attack 0
Negative direction
Move the baseline value all the way to the right

Finally, route the audio track to the MIDI track to channels 3/4:

Now when you press play, the audio is going to be sent to the MIDI track silently (because channels 3/4 will not play through the master track) and this audio is going to make the MIDI Tool v2 plugin unbypass. It will now turn all of your MIDI to velocity 0, muting it. However channel 16 is still free to be played.

Now you can leave all your tracks unsolo'd. When you enter MIDI notes, they will play back, but the MIDI on channel 1 will not play unless you mute the audio track. When you are ready to commit them, select them and right click and set channel to 1.

If you want to play both tracks at once, move the MIDI Tool v2 FX to after the VSTi / AUi plugin making the sounds or move Output Velocity Max back to 127.

(Reaper... anything is possible....)

Thank you for your patience and help. It seems Many steps. I think I'll take some time to understand these steps. After all, I'm not so skilled at Reaper.
In addition, when I write part or all of MIDI, I need to switch the original music and MIDI to listen at any time. Is it convenient for you to switch this method?

Using the solo buttons is not inconvenient for me, but if you have a big MIDI window open hiding the controls, maybe you want to look at using keyboard shortcuts.

I would recommend you make your tracks like this:

Music track
Folder for MIDI
---> MIDI 1
---> MIDI 2
---> et cetera

Make sure music track is track 1 and MIDI folder is track 2. Then assign keyboard shortcuts to mute track 1 and track 2 and you can switch back and forth easily.

The problem is you cannot use these while the MIDI editor is the open window.

You can do this using MIDI from a piano MIDI keyboard though. What kind of hardware do you have available?

Thank you very much for your help. With your method, the problem has been solved.
I stumbled upon a simpler way to do that, although I didn't know exactly how it worked, it did what I needed.
The method is to turn off master send of audio track and send audio track to MIDI track. If there are multiple MIDI tracks, only one track is reserved for playback, and the other tracks are Mute.

In this way, MIDI tracks do not sound when playing, but when writing notes and previews.
I can finally have a pleasant transcription in Reaper!!
In addition, there is a more difficult problem, if you have time, please also look at it, hoping to solve it.

My hardware is a computer, input with a mouse, haha!
There are also some hardware Sound Module and some software Synthesizers.
