Video decoder with GPU support in Reaper
Somehow my machine still struggles to play video smoothly in Reaper,
so being constrained to vlc and ffmpeg I started looking for something else. Here's what I found: *snare roll* MPV, a free, open source, cross-platform media player, that supports GPU decoding https://mpv.io/ The devs write on it's website, that the program was designed "(to be) usable as a library and (to) facilitate easy integration into other applications". So I wonder if it's possible to embed it inside Reaper, or tell it to use MPV as a video decoder. Sadly, I don't know how these things work.. Also curious if Justin, or other Reaper dev's know about such software (I bet they've searched for something similar at some point) |

No, you can't use it inside Reaper. I am not sure they have other codecs than ffmpeg.

Doesn't have FFmpeg GPU decoding features which just isn't used by REAPER yet?
