It's indicating that the media item container is longer than the unlooped source media that it contains. If you run the action "Item: Set item end to source media end", the media item end will get set to that position, or equivalently you can drag the right end of the media item back to the indicator, where it will snap.

Thanks schwa. I missed this one happening with audio files, removed the possibly confusing post.

It also happens with midi items (items that contain midi notes).

Is there any way to remove these icons without trimming the item back?

Main menu: Item > Item settings > Loop item source

Uncheck that setting to switch looping off

EDIT: As schwa confirmed in next post, this cannot be turned off for audio items (my comment was about MIDI items, of course).

You could glue the item. Again, this is a different indicator from the loop end marker notch; the screenshot shows an unlooped media item. The triangle is indicating that the media item is longer than the media source length. There is no actual media to the right of the indicator. The indicator can't be turned off.

Oh, I see, it's an audio item. It was not clear from the pic at quick look.
