Default Tracks seizing

During recording and playback the tracks seize or pause for a couple seconds exactly 30 min apart. CPU jumps during the pause. The seize shows up on the recorded track.
I've checked the forums for this issue and a couple of posts were close to my problem and I tried the solutions offered to no avail. I've turned off wifi, scans, updates..
On my Tascam US-2x2 I/O, my Software/Firmware/drivers are all the latest versions, I've tried changing the buffer size.
When I don't use the 2x2 and just use the laptops "Direct Sound" for
playback only, the pause doesn't happen, but I can't record. Suggestions please?

You don't happen to have the Auto power save switched on in your Tascam interface?

Default Tracks seizing

It was checked, so I tried again after unchecking. Tracks still freeze for a second.
Thanks for the response. I might’ve cried if that’s all it was ..

I bought another I/O and set it up. Same thing happens. I’m guessing it’s not my I/O

Can you try streaming the audio to or from a different storage location to rule that out as the problem?

I’m not sure what that means “from a different storage location”

A different hard drive or SSD typically.

I normally just drag my whole project folder on whatever Drive I want and open the project from there and it finds the files on the new Drive

I've had a similar problem (never timed it to see if it was 30 min ) for the past few versions (both REAPER and Win10 are suspects). A very intermittent stop for a second or three, and then resume. I'm back on 6.09 currently to avoid the current 'freezing a track more than once' bug. The hardware, drivers and settings have not changed since before this started.

Just download a previous version? Does that affect projects done after newer versions?
