Default Drums Anywhere. Does it work?

Has anyone tried this?

http://external.informer.com/DrumsAnywhere.com

Opinions? Any better alternatives? Thanks!

Yep it's a neat idea and I would love to try it out. Didn't hear much hype about it though

This is the alternative that I've heard of, but I have no experience with either of these products.

I have aerodrums and is disappointed.
You have to use this strong lamp (needs shades). Cannot have any sunlight.
And need more space than my 2x4m room.

This will probably sound a little funny to some, but I do my best drumming on the steering wheel of my Toyota 4Runner! I use to go on many long trips as my daughter played junior tennis across about a 3rd of the US.

I'll need to try the demo and see for myself but I was just wondering if there were any other alternatives. Thanks for the replies so far!

I would not use that 'informer.com' web site. Depending on what you download, you are quite likely to get more than you want.

Could you please elaborate? Is that from personal experience or what "red flags" am I missing?

The videos for DrumsAnywhere are interesting and certainly show the softwares capability of turning any surface into a trigger but,

what I do not see is someone actually playing a drum part (I mean real drumming, like real drums) live. I want to see a good drummer really cook, using this software.

Can one use this software to play air drums just like a trap set, including kick and high hat (feet) and snare, toms (hands) all at the same time?

That's what I want to know.

So, drums anywhere on the steering-wheel, and laptop with Reaper in the passenger-seat?

Honey, I'll be out in the 4runner laying down some tracks! Or, were you thinking really mobile, as in driving down the road?!! ; )

buy a cajon, much more fun ! OK there are no cymbals, but that is for the good. Cymbals just overide everything and cause too much unwanted noise.
Phil Spector used to remove all cymbals from the kit before sessions. Listen to be my baby

Oh - 2*3 is enough here! My cam is bit higher then just re place the drums, and all good.
I Have a goofy cap with some plastic shade hanging off the front - easier as I wearing specs.

The light stuff to me is less of inconvenience than setting up an ekit or dedicating a large space to one.
