Default The guitar sound on "Welcome To Sky Valley" by Kyuss

Any hints on nailing the guitar sound on the album "Welcome To Sky Valley" by Kyuss... specifically the track Gardenia.

It sounds really lush, but not sure how to replicate it.

I haven't listened to any Kyuss album in a long time, but I seem to recall they used lots of midrange (peaking around 500k, 100 an1500Kz) and a "spongy" tube distortion (not enough to be considered metal but gritty enough for rock). More in the veins of a heavily pushed and distorted Fender amp.
I will try and rescue my Kyuss CDs from the vaults and think of a more adequate answer.

These a bit of info here on Josh Homme, I don't know if he's changed his rig much but there's a little bit of history anyway.

If you want a good stoner fuzz sound, this imo is the best available...I never found a production model that pleased me though, ymmv.

The Analogman, J. Everman and Keeley ones are cool too.

I did read that Josh Homme used a bass cab instead of a guitar cab. So I got a decent sounding patch going on my PodXT by using a bass cab model with the Line 6 JTS45 amp model.

I'm pleased with it so far, but thanks for the suggestions too!
