I don’t really understand if that was an attempt at an answer to my question or just a general musing on protocol standards. Either you have some experience with this specific issue and please provide help or you can just start your own thread where you can wax poetically on whatever subject you like. ;-)
I got it running and for anyone with the same issue it does work. It turns out REAPER sees two devices and the one aptly named Airstep is the one that does not work. It shows up as unknown device.
