Default How many intervals behind

Hello,

I am trying to understand how Ninjam works in a bit more detail. Say:

Step1: User1 plays U1-BPI1, and User 2 plays U2-BPI2 to start.

Step2:
- User1 plays U1-BPI2 and hears U2-BPI1
- User2 plays U2-BPI2 and hears U1-BPI1

Step3:
- User1 plays U1-BPI3 and hears U2-BPI2
- User2 plays U2-BPI3 and hears U1-BPI2

So the idea is that a user always hears the previous BPI interval from the other user.
---

My question is : "Is always true that a user hears the previous BPI interval from the other users? Or can delays sometimes align in such a way that there is a 2 BPI intervals delay between users, especially when using a long form of BPI 128 (32bars x 4) and BPM 40 (160 bpm / 4)?"

As in Step3 being sometimes:
- User1 plays U1-BPI3 and hears U2-BPI1 ?????
- User2 plays U2-BPI3 and hears U1-BPI1 ?????

Thank you

It can vary.
