Default general stuff

can you help me here one by one....
1- when I record I always want to here the previous track playing...
can I make that default???
2-When I do playback I want the default to be all tracks too....?

3-When I was doing playback I would highlight the top track and then
all the tracks would playback..but the colors would change and I couldnt figure out what was going on...is there a way to turn off those colors???

I really want a simple interface for multitracking...I wish there was
a template for that..

Maybe you have a track soloed or the other tracks are muted?

Check out Kenny's Videos to learn how to use reaper.
most likely you are doing something unknowingly to cause the problem you are having.
You have not provided enough information for anyone really to help you.

Use the lanes method instead of the takes method for recording:
Options > New recording that overlaps existing items > Creates new items in lanes

In Project Settings Advanced tab, select 'Items always mix' for Item Mix Behavior. This makes all the recorded items in every lane play.

This will let you record with takes making new items and stacking up in lanes in the recording track. The 'items always mix' makes all of them play like you asked.

You can simply drag (or use the num pad 2 and 8 keys to move selected items up/down a track) items to their own track as you wish.

that stuff on top of track 1..?So I had 3 tracks...??
