Glue Items with Large Channel Count?

Is there a limit to the number of audio channels an item can contain before glue stops working?
I was working with a third order Ambisonics project yesterday and after editing a channel check audio recording, I tried to glue all the edits together but REAPER kept throwing up an error.

The items I was attempting to glue have sixteen audio channels and are .amb files (just WAV files with a different extension and a bit of Ambisonic header info from what I understand). I was attempting to glue them to flac format (48K/24bit).
Perhaps it is a limit of the flac format. I didn't try gluing to WAV format and am not at my PC right now to test.

Hi,
were you able to glue a 4 channel wav poly?
I'm trying to find a solution for that. Reaper just gives an error...

FLAC supports up to 8 channels.

@ReaDave, If you can, don't use Flac. Use Wavpack instead. Wavpack supports 256 channels (if I remeber correctly) and 32 bit.

but the question remains up to how many channels Reaper could glue...
I can only glue stereo. As soon as I want to Glue a poly wav with 4 channels I get an error.
So you mean if I use FLAC or Wavpack Reaper will be able to handle it?

I need the glue working to get Multichannel wavs into Izotope RX which doesn't support more than 2 channels... (I want to Glue -> open in Twisted Wave -> use RX plugins -> overwrite

just tested it.
FLAC and Wavpack doesn't work either...

"Error creating output media" on a 8 channel BWF.

I'm regularly glueing multi-channel items and never had any issue. Just tested it again and glued two 24-channel items - no problem. I'm using wave and wavpack format.

Now that I'm working almost exclusively in Ambisonic format, I have switched to wavpack. I still use flac for stereo and 5.1 bounces due to its widespread device compatibility but wavpack is now my primary Ambisonic file format.

I don't recall having issues with gluing wavpack multichannel files but I'll have to double check.
My rendering issue was indeed due to the flac channel limit.
