Thank you for your work!
Yes, SecureUx works fine with Windows 11 and the theme works with the latest Reaper version. Some things that were implemented later are not adapted to the theme (some graphics for example), but in general it works. I may look into it for an update at some point, but I can't guarantee that. For now the theme is "as is".

This has solved such a mystery for me. I was being blinded each time I open an FX window in a dark room with a dark theme. Thank you!!!

This looks really nice, and it seems like the only solution to dark menus after hours of searching. I wish true dark mode was possible inside of windows, I'm not brave enough to alter my system through third parties.

Yes, this is the one thing that I wish for in REAPER.

I'm not sure what you mean.
SecureUxTheme is not system-invasive. It only adds a signature to the themes so that windows accepts them.
It's no different than using a user theme in Reaper or to changing the mouse cursor scheme.

Note: Details are important!

Which OS?
OS version?
Which theme?
More detailed description of the problem?

Zeno, I have to apologize - this thread is about your theme, but I think I got sidetracked and I am actually focusing in on using 3rd party themes in windows.

As I read the thread, I see my derailment and I apologize.

If anyone wants to benefit from what I've learned:

- I have windows 11, 22H2, 22624.1755
- Trying to use the Penumbra theme
- After I patch it using the secure UX theme tool and apply, I can no longer access the file menu in reaper.

I did find one really great theme to use with it:

https://cleodesktop.gumroad.com/l/bicgzv

My conclusion is that the penumbra theme is not compatible with this version of windows 11, I am on a beta insider track.

Your theme has nothing to do with this, your theme has worked just fine on my system.

I apologize for the derailment.

Also Secure UX theme > ultrauxthemepatcher

Unfortunately I could not get it to work in latest General Availability Channel version (not sure the exact build and the current state of the computer is waiting to be setup after a reformat) of Windows 11 even after a reformat.

The two issues that came up:
- Items in menus have a medium gray background despite the menu being dark black.
- Menus will not come up in REAPER consistently.
- Opening something like Windows Settings takes 10-15 seconds instead of being instantaneous.

I primarily use the REAPER Neptune VI theme, but did test for persistence of this behavior in other themes.

Also tried suggestions here which did not work either:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Reaper/comm...on_windows_11/

Tried the two methods in isolation of one another after reformats.

The instructions provided for macOS work beautifully.

The themes on this page are confirmed to be working across Windows 11?

Hey! Mac-user here.

Is it possible to make a script in Reaper that when toggled "on":

1. Writes and runs "defaults write com.cockos.reaper NSRequiresAquaSystemAppearance 0" in the terminal,

2. Prompts the user to save the project if not saved,

3. Saves the "dark mode on" state somewhere, so that the script is displayed as toggled "on" / highlighted in the toolbar.

4. Reboots Reaper and last opened project.

And that when you toggle the script "off", it does the opposite = turns dark mode off, saves the state and reboots)

Best
Martin
