No sound on imported midis

I've used guitar pro 5 to create midi backing tracks. When I import the midi it is imported fine, but when I try to play it there is no sound. How can I fix this?

You need to route it to an instrument or MIDI output first. You might like to read this page of the Manual:

Did you load a VSTi on the track? Midi makes no sound on its own...

If you want the guitar sound out of Guitar Pro, you may be better exporting a .wav file I suspect.

I tried exporting a .wav but somethings wrong with my soundcard or something so I get no sound on the recording.

I restarted my computer and now the export .wav on gp 5 works. Thanks for the help.
