Automating a track to solo and input monitor?

Bare with me here and sorry if I don't explain this well.

Basically I'm looking to create a makeshift talkback system inside reaper by having a track that I can press a button on my keyboard and while I hold down the button it solos and input monitors that specific track im using for the desk mic and when I release it goes back to its original state (muted).

Is this possible to do?

don't think you do it exactly 'while you hold the button' but do think you could make a custom action that would be a toggle so you'd hit a key to talk back and hit it again to not use the talk back...
