Default Prevent left/right movements of midi notes

Hi, is there a way to prevent left/right movement for midi notes? I've tried locking but it's not working on piano roll.

What are you doing to move them ertugrulgul, I don't have any problems unless I purposely move them. Either that or I screw up with some command, and that happens more then I want to admit.

In some cases (remapping for drums etc.) I want to move a midi note a couple notes up or down on piano roll with mouse and most of the time it moves accidentaly left or right. Is there an option for locking them for preventing left/right movement like we lock media items on arrange window?

Go to the MIDI editor Options menu and MIDI editor mouse modifiers. Context: MIDI note, left drag. You may notice that the action Move note on one axis only has been set for the Shift+Ctrl modifier. Try how that feels and maybe change the default action to that one if needed.

Also, there are actions for Move note down / up one semitone / one octave.

Indeed nofish !

I would suggest OP using these keycommands, cause:

- Faster workflow (imho)
- no "per accident" moving notes horizontally.
