Default Getting rid of the dashes in front of the song name

Old versions of Reaper didn't put two dashes in front of the song name after using the Batch File Converter. Now I'm using version 4.30 and when I use the Batch File Converter the completed song looks something like this:

--Unholy

Is there a way I can tell Reaper not to put those dashes in the song title?

Thanks.

What does the "File name" field in your Batch File Converter dialog look like?

Looks like: $tracknumber-$trackname - $itemnumber-$itemname

What exactly do you mean by "the completed song"?

I was assuming you mean the resulting files are all named
--[project name]
but that can't be it, right? (as you don't even declare [project name] to come up in the file names)

I guess I don't really understand the issue right now, please try to explain a bit more.

But take your time, I have to run now anyway. I'll be looking back at this in a few hours. Hopefully you got your answer by then. Stay tuned

What I am specifically referring to is when you render a song like an MP3 or a WAV. I'm not referring to an original Reaper Project or anything.

Let's say you download Kiss Lick it Up and you look at the MP3 wave pattern through Reaper and you can tell it's recorded very, very soft. You don't like this and decide to boost the volume by running it through a compressor (I do this lots).

Now the resulting song file after you render it will look like this:

--Lick it Up

That's what I mean.

The batch file converter is much different from the Batch Render feature.

" Looks like: $tracknumber-$trackname - $itemnumber-$itemname "

If I was to guess, you are rendering a time selection of the master mix not a stem so the $tracknumber and $trackname macros do not work.

You could just apply the compressor to the media item, then use the glue function.
But then you'll still have to rename the file to the remove the "glued" from the filename.
