Hmm. I hadn't seen that explanation before. Good to know there is (or was??) a reason for it.
The two related issues that make this frustrating are that, when undoing past one of these points, the window fx window pops up, but if you then redo forward again, it doesn't close itself, AND if you close it manually (which can be an instinctive move under the circumstances), it creates a new undo point that wipes out all the subsequent undos. So there's a risk there that one must keep mindful of.
